About Steinlager 2:

Steinlager 2 isn't just any vessel; she's a legendary sailing icon. Skippered by Sir Peter, she secured New Zealand's place in yachting history when she won all six legs of the prestigious Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989-1990, becoming the first and only yacht to do so. The record has never been broken.

What to Expect:
  • Witness the Sir Peter Blake Regatta racing up close.
  • Enjoy complimentary tea and coffee on board.
  • Expert crew providing insights and safety.

Booking Information:
  • Price: $50.00 per person
  • Date: Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 December 2023
  • Duration: Departure will be once sailors have left the beach. Return will be after racing finishes for the day, with the aim to be back on-shore ahead of most of the competitors.
  • Departure location: Waiake Beach. Meeting point in the main event marquee.

Ferry to and from the vessel onboard Sealegs included. Be prepared to get a little wet. You will need to bring a packed lunch.

All proceeds go towards the NZ Sailing Trust, which look after Steinlager 2, and provide unforgettable experiences for youth to develop life skills and important values. More information about the trust can be found on their website - www.nzsailingtrust.com

This is a non-refundable item. Weather dependent with the final decision resting with the skipper of Steinlager 2 and the ferry vessel driver as to safety and ability to transport guests.
